but the blues are still blue

So the real question of the evening is as follows: Who is stupider? She who washes a brand new blue shirt with a brand new white sweatshirt and is surprised to find spots all over the latter? OR she who two weeks later washes the aforementioned almost new blue shirt with yet another group of light colored clothes (including the same sweatshirt from before) and is surprised to find spots on a light pink skirt??? Seriously, people. I did it twice. And was surprised both times.

At least my room is all tidy!

p.s. if delete is backspace on a mac, where is delete?

update

Following the advice of almost everyone I asked, I made an appointment with a different DMV office. I stopped by on my way to work one morning, and 20 minutes later, I walked back out to my car, new license plates in hand. I was incredibly grateful and have been so relieved since then. Just wanted to share.

In other news, work has been exhausting lately. When I get home, all I want to do is stare at the ceiling. So this is about all you will get from me for now other than this question which you will please answer:

If you take a long(ish) nap in the middle of the day, do you wake up with a headache? Because I always do, and I thought that was normal until this weekend.

on perfection

I bought it on Friday in Santa Monica. With each day that passes, I fall more in love with this machine. Do you realize that I can just close the lid, and it goes to sleep? But even better, when I want to use it again, I simply open it back up, and pick up where I left off. It doesn't freak out and quit working and need to take ten minutes to shut down and reboot again. And it's so small and pretty and perfect and has a remote control that always seems to know exactly which application I want it to start playing. So happy. So about time that I made this purchase.

An example of something that is not perfect is the DMV for the state of California. I returned for the 4th time this afternoon trying to get my car registered out here. I got into a wreck after I had changed my insurance and gotten a smog check, but before I had registered the car in CA. This wreck resulted in the totalling of my car, which means that I have to get a salvage title to keep it, which the insurance company has to notify the DMV about. Because I was being honest, I told the DMV that my car should be salvaged when I went to register, so I was told I had to wait for the notification. The insurance company sent notice to the DMV, the DMV didn't receive it. The insurance company sent notice to the DMV again, again they didn't receive it. Today, I took a printed copy of the notice from the insurance company, but the people at the DMV wouldn't even look at it. The lady actually pushed it back towards me without a glance and told me that it was not their problem. She said they can't register my car until the DMV people in Sacramento note that the car is salvaged. I suggested that we just register my car normally and then I would just come back for the salvage title if that was needed later. I was told that that was impossible because my car was already marked as salvaged in the system. I then asked if it was marked as salvage in the system, why couldn't I just get a salvage title? I was then informed that it was because the car was not marked as salvaged in the system. I think this was when I started to cry, which doesn't help one's case when one is trying to point out irrational thinking. I was still bawling when I asked to speak to her supervisor who repeated the same nonsense to me just as rudely. I left, still crying, and called the insurance company who said they'd never had this problem before and didn't know what to do. I still don't know what to do, but I know that God will take care of it. And I did stop crying eventually. And decided that I was going to go shopping instead of going back to work for the afternoon. Sometimes, getting some cute new clothes really is all that matters.
